Giving Securities or Gifts of Cash by Wire Transfer
When you give a gift of appreciated securities to Sojourners, a 501(c)(3) organization, you can avoid the capital gains tax on those securities and also receive an immediate charitable income tax deduction. It is important that you have owned the stock or securities for one year or more, and that you donate the securities themselves (not the proceeds from the sale of the securities). Making a transfer of securities, or a cash transfer to Sojourners is easy. Please click here to download our instructions along with a sample letter to your broker. Please contact Kaitlin Hasseler by phone at 202-745-4610, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have further questions.
Memorial giving is a meaningful way to recognize significant life events and people while supporting Sojourners. Your gift will be instrumental in building a deeply rooted Christian movement that is strong enough to effect social change and sustain people over the long haul. We will notify your honoree or their family of your gift with a special card. A separate acknowledgement will be mailed to you, which you can keep for your tax records. Click here to give.
