Prayer of the Day: Poverty and the Economic Crisis

God, despite some indicators that we may be coming through the economic recession, we continue to lift up those who are struggling financially, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually as a result of the troubles they are enduring. Bind us together, Lord, as your body, to provide and care for those who need help in these difficult times. May we make the most of these unfortunate opportunities by showing generosity and love. We entrust to you, Giver of all good things, our lives and the lives of those around us. In Jesus' name, amen.
