There seems to be a consistent political pattern emerging in Zimbabwe: first, there will be a violation of the unity agreement by ZANU (PF), followed by challenge by opposition parties with threat to withdraw from government of national unity, then the regional leader responsible for Zimbabwe will be called in to resolve the issues (Jacob Zuma from South Africa). He will hold meetings with political leaders separately then together, the outcome of the meeting will be handshakes and agreements that all outstanding issues would be resolved within set deadlines. Then before the deadlines, the cycle starts again!
It is a pattern that can be seen in two ways: either as eroding hope, as it is much of the same thing with little change, or as the consistent chipping at the political power base that will in time yield results. The story of the falling of the walls of Jericho shows that going around in circles in faith and vision can bring the walls down!
