Social Media and Communications Assistant

Marjorie Rose T. Lim is the social media and communications assistant at Sojourners.

Born in Dallas and primarily raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, she graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and minors in English, philosophy, and psychology. As part of the Honors Scholar Program, she served on the Athenian Honors Society’s officer board for two years as vice president and secretary of publications, where she released their monthly newsletter The Athenian. Her capstone project focused on political violence and populism in the Philippines, where she still considers herself deeply rooted as the daughter of immigrants.

Prior to joining Sojourners, Marjorie spearheaded field canvassing efforts and strategic communication for a grassroots state house campaign in 2024 and performed community outreach on behalf of a mental health organization. Holding a desire to remain a lifelong learner, she thrives in environments that honor a spirit of encounter. She believes in the power of telling stories that illuminate the truth, and no matter their place in life, everyone has at least one pool of knowledge to seek from.

In an origin story befitting her current role, she first came across Sojourners through an Instagram post featuring cover art from their magazine issue “Finding Healing From Religious Harm.” She would attest that engaging with this organization’s content has helped shepherd her own healing journey, and is looking forward to helping share it in return.

When she isn’t contemplating the merits and pitfalls of getting paid to be chronically online, Marjorie delights in reading speculative fiction, growing in her love of music through listening or performing, and exploring other mediums of creative expression. Her thoughts often meander towards her next adventure, whether it be a well-anticipated concert or a spontaneously suggested trip.
