On Oct. 28, in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, FBI director James Comey announced that the FBI will investigate newly discovered Hillary Clinton emails, reports NBC News.
The New York Times reports that the previously undiscovered emails were found on devices belonging to Clinton aide Huma Abedin and her husband Anthony Weiner.
In his letter Comey, stated that the FBI “will review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance” to the FBI’s previous investigation of Hillary Clinton’s personal email server.

On July 5, Comey announced that he would not recommend indicting Hillary Clinton for her private email use during her tenure as Secretary of State. However, he did state that Clinton and her staff were “extremely careless” in the way they handled classified information.
Comey’s announcement about Clinton’s newly discovered emails comes only 11 days before Election Day.
