The Gregg Gift Company started selling Bible covers in 1971 out of a garage in Southern California. While most of the company’s stock tends toward inspirational products, with designs from artists such as Thomas Kinkade and Mary Engelbreit, they also have a hard-core Christian product line aimed at teens. Emblazoned with the words "Army of the Lord," this camouflaged Bible pack sports special pockets for cell phones, PDAs, and other evangelizing implements. It’s the perfect bag for The Soldier’s Bible, published by Broadman & Holman, which contains—in addition to scripture—the words to the hymn "Onward, Christian Soldiers," a "plan of salvation," and prayers by General Patton and George W. Bush. (A message to teens about war: Resist the hype. Jesus did.)
