Pro-life demonstrators protested the D.C. government's use of surveillance cameras during the January March for Life, holding signs saying, "Big Brother is Watching" and "King wouldn't support spying." Patrick J. Mahoney, director of the District-based Christian Defense Coalition, added, "It would be a tragedy if the second victim of the 9/11 attacks was the First Amendment." The Washington, D.C. police said they did not target individuals with the 18 cameras used to monitor demonstrators during the pro-life march.
