Your article in the November 2004 issue "High Stakes for Church and State" (by Jim Wallis) is simply superb. You state the issues clearly; the analysis is prophetic politics at its best. I have not read such forthright insight into "Bush theocracy" or "war theology." Recently I have become aware that those who strive to connect conservative theology with conservative politics are challenging both the Christian and the American tradition of separating church and state. Perhaps you can follow up this article with some reflections on why separation is required for a healthy religious community as well as for a just and equitable society. Thanks for being such a creative voice in this sometimes barren land!
