John Rivera is the Media Relations Manager for Lutheran World Relief, an international humanitarian organization that works with Lutherans and partners around the world to end poverty, injustice and human suffering. He previously served as director of university communications for Notre Dame of Maryland University and as communications director at Catholic Relief Services. He worked for 14 years as a writer and editor for The Baltimore Sun, where he served as a suburban bureau chief, a rewrite man and covered the religion beat, specializing in explanatory stories on religious communities and theological trends.
