We lost a funny man on Monday to a sad and persistent disease. Robin Williams passed away last night of an apparent suicide.
In memory of Williams, we've compiled a few of our favorite scenes.
Williams' performance as the lovable Genie: "Ten thousand years will give you such a crick in the neck!"
2. Good Will Hunting
"It's not your fault." One of the most memorable scenes from Williams' long career. Although he was known for his comedy, this moment shows his full range of artistic talent and purveyor of all human emotions.
3. Saturday Night Live
Williams didn't just stick to creating phenominal fictional characters, he awed us with his impressions. Here he plays Ronald Reagan for an opening skit on Saturday Night Live.
4. Patch Adams
"What's wrong with death, sir? What are we so mortally afraid of? Why can't we treat death with a certain amount of humanity and dignity and decency and, God forbid, maybe even humor."
5. Dead Poets Society
Williams taugh us about what it meant to write our own stories. "What will your verse be?"
6. Dead Poets Society (Part 2, because it's just that good)
In another clip from Dead Poet Society, Williams gives us the creation of "The Sweaty-Toothed Madman."
7. Aladdin (part 2)
The Genie's words are especially poginant: "I'm free! I'm free at last!"
