"Saturday Night Live" has been having a great run this season, thanks to historic nature of this election cycle. But besides flat-out mockery and spot-on impersonations of the candidates, the show has also provided some excellent fodder for discussion, including last month's "Black Jeopardy" sketch, which found common ground between black Americans and a Trump supporter.

This weekend's show was no different. The cold open featured Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon) facing off once again with Donald Trump (Alec Baldwin) on CNN's "Out Front with Erin Burnett." After some typical back-and-forth about the Clinton emails and Trump's relationship with Vladmir Putin, the two actors broke character.

"Don't you guys feel gross all the time about this?" Baldwin asked to live applause.

The pair then rushed to Times Square, hugging Trump and Clinton supporters alike.

"We can't tell you who to vote for, but on Tuesday, we all get a chance to choose what kind of country we want to live in," McKinnon closes.

Take a few minutes to watch the somewhat hopeful(?) open.
