Jesus, you proclaimed that those who were persecuted for their righteousness would be blessed. We ask ourselves today whether we are persecuted for being one of your followers. May we live our lives in such a way as to stand in the face of power, knowing that such bold action may lead to persecution as it did for you. Amen.
