As we celebrate the tearing down of the Berlin Wall, let us reflect on walls that are currently being built across the U.S.-Mexico border as well as in Bethlehem and the West Bank. Such walls never seem to contain the criminal element, which always finds a way to circumvent whatever structures are put in place. Instead, they serve to only further divide and isolate us instead of exploring how we can come together.
