Tension between protesters and police officers boiled over into violence again this week in Ferguson, Missouri, where unrest continues after the death of Michael Brown two months ago. Dozens of people were arrested, including prominent faith leaders like scholar and activist Cornel West and Rev. Jim Wallis, president and founder of Sojourners magazine.

Ordained ministers and other religious figures were in the city to support Ferguson October, a grassroots effort to recommit the community to protesting Brown's death. Many took part in an interfaith prayer service on Sunday, Oct. 12. Arrests occurred the next day during "Moral Monday" rallies, which featured the faith leaders asking police officers to "repent for the 18-year-old teen's death," The Huffington Post reported.
