About The Event
Christian faith leaders are navigating a time of national disruption, polarization, and institutional change. Many are carrying the weight of caring for their communities while also trying to remain spiritually grounded themselves.
Responders for Racial Equity is a trauma-informed formation and leadership cohort for Black, Indigenous, and other Christian faith leaders of color.
This is not a stand-alone training. Participants will learn and build relationships together through:

In-person convening: August 12–13, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska

Virtual experience: A six-week small group following the convening

Online community: Participants will connect and access cohort materials through the Faith & Practice Forum

Cohort size: Approximately 30 participants
Together, participants will explore the difference between Christian nationalism and authentic Christian faith while developing practices and tools to care for themselves, their congregations, and their communities.
The cohort will include spiritual formation, collective healing, story work, reflection, and leadership development.
Applications are open to ordained and emerging clergy, lay faith leaders, chaplains, seminarians, community organizers, and leaders of Christian faith-based organizations. The cohort welcomes leaders across Christian denominations, with preference given to Episcopalian applicants.
