Hann hails from the Napa Valley. Growing up, they camped up and down the state of California, from the northern coastal redwoods to the giant sequoias in the Sierras. They attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif. where they led the White Students for Racial Justice organization, educating their fellow white peers on what it means to live in solidarity with their siblings in Christ, across intersectional identities. After graduating with a B.A. in religious studies, they moved to the big city of San Francisco. Over the last year, Hann found odd jobs across the city from a brief stint as a children’s ministry assistant to working at a nonprofit ropes course and finally as a climbing gym instructor.
Hann’s passion for faith and justice in action brought them to Sojourners after half a decade of yearning for a community such as this. Their knack for keeping track of the details and willingness to ask for money landed them the Advancement role.
In their free time, Hann can be found crafting, making feeble attempts to rock climb, or reading one of many books they have on rotation.
