And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. A windstorm suddenly arose on the sea, so great that the boat was being swamped by the waves, but he was asleep. And they went and woke him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”

Voice of the day
Lord, I confess I want the clarity of catastrophe but not the catastrophe. / Like everyone else, I want a storm I can dance in. / I want an excuse to change my life.
Prayer of the day
Not all storms can be avoided in this life, Lord. Be with us and preserve us, so that we may not be crushed by the waves.
