The Christian story is that despite the coming of death, there is resurrection, there is life. There is an afterword. There is joy. That is the Black joy. We don't want to be overcome or overwhelmed by the tentacles of white violence and white superiority. But we want to, in spite of that, as we resist, as we fight it, we want to remember the joy that we have.
