Voice of the day
If one really wishes to know how justice is administered in a country, one does not question the policemen, the lawyers, the judges, or the protected members of the middle class. One goes to the unprotected — those, precisely, who need the law's protection most! — and listens to their testimony.
Prayer of the day
God, help us to peel back the layers in our own understanding and uncover the truth of the systems of injustice in this country. May we consider carefully what we hear and learn, and listen to the testimonies of those most affected by unjust experiences. Lead us to be a part of the change.
