Obey the Signs

More than 30 billboards with the slogan "Peace is Patriotic" have gone up nationwide. The billboards are the project of the Peace Roots Alliance, which formed in response to Sept. 11. "This is the land of the free and the home of the brave," says Peace Roots media coordinator Douglas Stevenson. "Let us be brave enough to say no more war in our name." The signs can be seen in San Francisco, Oklahoma City, Cleveland, Denver, Tucson, Ariz., Nashville, Tenn., and elsewhere.
