A WORD OF thanks for the timely article on Miriam Therese Winter ("From the Inside Out," by Julie Polter and Anne Wayne, July-August 1997). As an ordained clergywoman in the United Methodist Church, the words she spoke resonated with my own experience. The article confirmed two things; I'm not the only one "defecting in place," and I'm glad I came back to Sojourners.
