YOUR ARTICLE "Can Justice Heal?" ("Groundswell," by Kimberly Burge, September-October 1997) is an excellent report of a model program that should be used all over the country. Such programs have been under-reported in states such as Montana, where the only solutions many people trust are more and tougher sentences in larger and larger prisons. Thank you for doing the research and getting this important report out to those of us who are anxious to spread the word that there is something that works better than sheer punishment.
