Scot DeGraf’s article ("Less is More," May 2005) was great, but he missed a critical mode of transportation: the bicycle. I am in my mid-50s, and co-workers—including people in their 70s—and I bicycle up to 10 miles one way to work. When the weather does not permit cycling, the bus system in Denver is adequate to get to work without using a car. Walking is the most civilized mode of transportation, but if a destination is too far to walk, bicycling is a close second.
