Jim Rice’s article ("A Vote for the Earth," March 2004) made no mention of the recent report by a Pentagon research group that urgently affirms what the scientific community has been saying about global warming. In fact, according to a report I heard on the radio, they are predicting not only environmental but also social and international chaos due to the greenhouse effect as soon as 2020. Since the report rebuts everything Bush and his associates have been saying, it will probably be squelched.
