MY THANKS TO Rose Marie Berger for her excellent article ("Don't Call Me a Saint!"). As a member of one of the five religious entities founded by Blessed Jean-Martin Moye referred to in her article, I totally agree with our decision not to seek canonization of our founder. I also agree with Berger's conclusion that the church should declare Dorothy Day a saint in order to place her extraordinary life principles into the limelight. Berger's comment regarding required miracles is especially noteworthy. Certainly works of mercy such as Day practiced deserve recognition and hopefully some emulation.
