"A PUNISHING DECADE," by Ryan Beiler (May-June 2000), was right about the "static" figures for "estimated" incarceration in the United States. The annual figure is more than 10 million. The United States also sexually abuses and tortures more female inmates and female child detainees than the next five "rogue nations" added together. That is as bad as it can get without turning into Rwanda. The U.N. has also condemned the United States for state-sanctioned sex abuse of female inmates. The United States has real human rights abuses on a huge scale. In some categories it is the number one global offender.
