A bipartisan group of House and Senate members re-introduced the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (EDNA) in June. President Clinton, a supporter since 1995, said the measure is about "ensuring that Americans, regardless of their sexual orientation, can find and keep their jobs based on their ability and the quality of their work. It is designed to protect the rights of all Americans to participate in the job market without fear of unfair discrimination." When the Senate last considered the act in 1996, the measure failed by one vote. EDNA is also supported by several major corporations including Eastman Kodak, Bell Atlantic, and AT&T.
