I found Helene Slessarev's article "Saul Alinsky Goes to Church" (March-April 2000) interesting because the situation in the United Kingdom is very different. I am the project coordinator of a skills training project in North Sheffield called STOP. Our program trains people in pre-vocational skills to enable them to fulfill their God-given potential. The problem we are facing at the moment is lack of support from local churches and lack of funding. It seems no one wants to give us any money, even though we are a registered charity and company.
