Some conversations are meant for a stage. Others are meant for a table.
During Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Legislative Week, A Seat Among Seers will bring an extraordinary circle of political, cultural, faith, media and movement leaders together for something intentionally different: no panels, no podiums, no prepared script. Just one table, a room full of visionaries and the freedom to imagine beyond what feels possible.
Inspired by Casey Gerald’s The Great Refusal, the gathering will bring together voices including DeRay McKesson, Erica Williams Simon, Lamarr Jurelle Bruce, Nsé Ufot, Paul Butler, Roslyn Satchel, Jamila Okubo, Cameron Bell, Ibram X. Kendi and Adam Russell Taylor, alongside members of the Congressional Black Caucus.
And at the center of the table, one question:
Where has our political imagination become too conventional for the future we say we want?
This is not a panel. Not a keynote. Not business as usual.
It is a room being made for possibility — and a conversation about what comes next.
