About the Role

The digital education and outreach manager will provide support for the development and dissemination of digital learning resources created to engage congregants and faith leaders in efforts to address political and/or cultural polarization within congregations and their communities. In this role, the manager will work with the director of congregational education and outreach, consultants, and colleagues to support the development of Sojourners Congregations from Polarization to Unity (CPU) project and collaborate with Sojourners’ digital, marketing, and web teams to promote the project to congregants and faith leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Foster equity and inclusion within the work environment and in every aspect of your work.
  • Track, cultivate and build relationships with faith leaders, churches, and congregants across the country. Sojourners is an ecumenical organization and is committed to serving the wide array of congregations and denominations present in the U.S. Church.
  • Collaborate with the Sojourners Mobilizing and Marketing Teams as well as cross- organization teams to implement the CPU communications and outreach plan, including speaking opportunities to engage congregants and faith leaders.
  • Identify and recruit experts in the areas of political and cultural polarization and transformation to provide CPU program resources and present webinars for learning hub participants.
  • Work closely with the Director of Congregational Education and Outreach, Director of Racial Justice, Senior Director of Campaigns and Mobilizing and web development consultants to map the digital learning experience and ways to engage congregants and faith leaders.
  • Collect data and monitor site usage and engagement to create a data-informed digital engagement strategy for congregations.
  • Support the learning hub through periodic website and CPU updates.
  • Compile and provide analyses of learning hub user assessments and surveys.
  • Represent Sojourners and the program at faith-based conferences, churches, and other venues.
  • Contribute news and program updates to Sojourners social media as well as other internal communications teams.
  • Promote effective and clear internal communication in collaboration with Sojourners mobilizing and cross-organization teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years employment in non-profits, issue campaigns, electoral campaigns and/or Congress focused on digital media and/or media relations
  • Drupal CRM
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS and some combined proficiency in PHP, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated ability to create data structures and data tracking systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, and manage multiple priorities and projects effectively
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
