Voice of the day
The unprecedented hastiness with which the federal government has moved to execute eight people over the past six months (and five more in the coming weeks) shows, at best, a misunderstanding of the Church’s consistent life ethic — at worst, a blatant disregard for it.
Prayer of the day
God, please intercede for the lives at risk. Galvanize us to stand up and proclaim a unified “No” to death. Soften the hearts of those who order these executions and those who are asked to administer them. May they, too, choose life.
