Verse of the day

When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who also was himself a disciple of Jesus. He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus; then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. So Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth.
Matthew 27:57-59

Voice of the day

Down in Saturday, we are free to question the world up above, the one that allowed us to fall. … Saturday is a land where idols lay shattered and strewn about. It is a place to lean toward one another and name the things we fear.

Michael Conner, “Acts of Holy Saturday that Defy Despair”

Prayer of the day

This day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday is a gift, Lord; may we not rush from despair too quickly but sit in the reality of the here and not yet.
