Digital Education and Outreach Specialist

Cortnie is the digital education and outreach specialist at Sojourners. Based in Montana, she also serves as a local organizer advocating for immigrant rights in rural communities. With over 20 years of experience in teacher training, Cortnie specializes in second-language acquisition and culturally diverse classrooms.

She holds a B.A. in social sciences from Washington State University and an M.A. in education and international development from University College London’s Institute of Education. Her academic journey led her to explore the intersection of art, identity, and nonviolent resistance, culminating in a thesis focused on creative expression in Palestine.

Cortnie is passionate about street art, camping, and identifying wildflowers. She believes in the transformative power of education and art as tools for justice and community empowerment.
