President of ABC News Tells His Church to 'Vote Out Poverty'

David Westin, president of ABC News, was the speaker at Poverty Sunday this last week at his home church of Reformed Church in Bronxville, New York. One of our volunteer Vote Out Poverty organizers from Pentecost 2008, Dawn Revella, recruited him to be part of her VOP team there. These are the comments he gave on Sunday.

Good morning. I'm David Westin, and I serve on the Mission Council for the Church. I am speaking this morning on the issue of poverty and what it has to do with us.

In all honesty, I'm here as something of a reluctant "volunteer." I first joined the Mission Council, not to try to change the world, but to involve myself and my family more directly in trying to help individuals
