Hurricane Sandy left a lot of people without power and water — some even lost their homes. That's why Airbnb, a website that facilitates renting apartments or rooms for short periods of time, is waiving all of its fees for the more than 20,000 spaces affected by Sandy. [via GOOD]
I'm always losing socks. And I guess other people are too because San Francisco-based clothing company Betabrand is now offering sock insurance. By filing a claim, which means telling them that you lost a sock and "posting a funny picture onto Facebook," you can get back two socks for every pair you buy. [via Laughing Squid]
