Sojourners Magazine Honored with Several Awards by Associated Church Press at Annual Conference

Awards include recognitions for local and national reporting, theme issues, social media shorts, and best emerging journalist

Associated Church Press, one of nation’s top faith-based media professional organizations, recognizes Sojourners among one of the best faith-based culture and news outlets in the U.S.

Greta Lapp Klassen honored as Best Emerging Journalist

Washington, DC, May 28, 2025 – Sojourners Magazine, an independent print and online magazine of faith, culture, and politics, received accolades by the Associated Church Press, one of the largest faith-based media professional organizations in the country, at their annual awards ceremony.

The Associated Church Press’ Annual Conference and Awards Celebration, which celebrates Christian print, digital and audio work produced in 2024, was held in Chicago, Illinois in May. Sojourners and its contributors were among hundreds of writers and publications recognized for their contributions to informing and uplifting readers through thoughtful, faith-based storytelling.

“Behind every Sojourners feature story, illustration, article or social media post, there’s a dedicated team working hard to bring our readers important stories about faith and social justice,” said Betsy Shirley, Editor in Chief of Sojourners. “We are honored by these awards and all who have contributed and shared their stories over the years.”
