WHY:            As the race for the Republican and Democratic nominations for president starts, more than 100 Christian leaders have asked the candidates to produce videos stating how they, as president, would work to address poverty both in the United States and around the world. The leaders will now be disseminating the videos among the members of the Circle of Protection. The leaders hope these videos will help elevate hunger and poverty as an election issue and stimulate debate among Christians and the public about the most effective solutions.

The Circle of Protection is a coalition of many and diverse Christian leaders working together for help and opportunity for hungry and poor people in the United States and around the world.
