Have you ever been rescued from an avalanche by a wolverine? Neither have I. But naturalist and wildlife expert Casey Anderson was recently rescued from being buried in a staged snowdrift by a helpful and "tenacious" wolverine named Jasper.

This is one of those videos that makes me want to do cool stuff with my life. A guy in Chicago documented his 2012 with 365 one-second video clips. It's neat.

Apparently, if you can garner 25,000 signatures for any petition, the White House will officially respond to said petition. Well, 25,000 people petitioned to create jobs and bolster national defense by building a Death Star by 2016. And the White House responded with wit and humor. Yes. One of their objections: Why would we spend countless taxpayer dollars on a Death Star with a fundamental flaw that can be exploited by a one-man starship? [via Laughing Squid]
