Social Media and Communications Assistant

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Marsheley is a first-generation Haitian American who has always been drawn to storytelling, creativity, and people who use their voices to make a difference. She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from SUNY Old Westbury in 2021. In the years between earning her bachelor’s and pursuing her master’s, she found herself in the classroom, beginning as a paraprofessional before working her way up to teaching English at both the elementary and middle school levels. She later earned her master’s degree in digital media and communications from Pace University in 2025.

Her love for community runs just as deep as her love for storytelling. She has mentored children through Children of Promise in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, volunteered with the New York City chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and looks forward to continuing that work with AFSP’s D.C. chapter.

A longtime lover of creative expression, Marsheley has found more than one stage on which to share her passions. She has been involved in pageantry for 15 years and currently serves as Miss New York Elite 2026-2027 with National American Miss. What began as a childhood hobby has grown into another avenue for her to connect with people, advocate for causes close to her heart, and embrace the occasional excuse to dress up.

A New York girl at heart and a creative by trade, she is excited to bring her love of media, faith, service, and community to Sojourners.
