Daniel Hart

Daniel Hart is Sojourners’ 2026-27 online editorial assistant. He earned his B.A. in communication studies and a minor in journalism at Western Washington University. After graduating, he found himself in a shadowy alternate timeline of property management, but he couldn’t shake the journalistic itch. He started freelance writing, including for The South Seattle Emerald. His 2023 story on Afghan humanitarian parolees won a regional SPJ feature-hard news award. As a journalist, he investigates low-visibility, high-stakes stories and facilitates difficult conversations about politics, human rights, and religion.

To get the blood flowing after a long fact checking session, Daniel enjoys road biking, backpacking, or salsa dancing.
