AFTER MANY MONTHS of caring for my parents, especially through my father's final illness and death, I had a chance to read Sojourners, which supports my social and spiritual concerns. The September-October 2000 magazine printed four letters on that pseudo-issue "homosexuality." The past year would have been a nightmare had it not been for the constant loving support of my lesbian family and my straight and lesbian friends of all faiths.
Sin? They gave unquestioning care to all my relatives, opening their homes to them, visiting them in the hospital, driving them to the hospital and hospice. Opening the page to this "issue" in this journal was a slap in the face to allfrom a place I come to for sustenance. This is my last statement on the subject: I'm Catholic, I'm queer, get over it.
