People of all stripes are redefining what it means to be “pro-life” by upholding a consistent ethic of life—from womb to tomb. Take conservative luminary Richard Viguerie, for example.
In the January 2013 magazine article “Who Would Jesus Execute?” Sojourners editor-in-chief Jim Wallis interviews Viguerie about the death penalty. As a staunch religious--as well as political--conservative, Viguerie opposes abortion and capital punishment. Although he disagrees with them on many political issues, Viguerie seeks to work with more progressive leaders such as Jim Wallis to speak out against capital punishment. Together these two unlikely allies are seeking a deeper understanding of what it means to protect all human life.
