A New Social Covenant: Values and Trust for a Moral Economy

On September 17-18, 2013, the World Economic Forum’s Global Council on Values held a conference at Georgetown University. Jim Wallis is the chair of this Council. The theme of the conference was “The New Social Covenant: Committing to Human Dignity and Common Values in the Global Economy.” 

In lieu of a course lecture, students should watch this video of a public dialogue staged at the conference between Jim Wallis and Stewart Wallis, executive director of the New Economics Foundation, “UK’s leading think tank promoting social, economic, and environmental justice.”  The dialogue is titled, “A New Social Covenant: Values and Trust for a New Moral Economy.”
