Susanna Bean joined the Sojourners’ team as digital mobilizing coordinator in 2019. In her role she cultivates the online community of SojoAction activists and manages digital strategy for Sojourners’ advocacy work. She is passionate about educating people on the political process and empowering them to use their voices to advocate for social justice.
Susanna grew up in rural Pennsylvania and has found a second home in the beautiful city of D.C. Prior to joining Sojourners, Susanna was director of communications for Shared Hope International, a D.C. nonprofit dedicated to ending child sex trafficking. Before moving to D.C., she worked in nonprofit management and direct service with clients. Susanna has a B.A. from Messiah College in human development and family science.
Susanna can be found opening every window in her house to enjoy a pleasant breeze, bird watching, reading, gardening, and tending to a growing collection of houseplants. She enjoys following all things NPR and politics, hosting dinner parties, and creating space for rambling conversations.
