Jason serves as director of strategic gifts, focusing on strengthening relationships and growing Sojourners’ support with major donors. Previously, he was partnership development specialist with the Alliance of Baptists and served as an adjunct professor at the Sutton School of Social Sciences at Ouachita Baptist University. In 2014, he received an M.Div. from Wesley Theological Seminary, where he focused on urban ministry, and was ordained at Calvary Baptist Church, Washington, D.C. He serves on the board of directors for both Interfaith Arkansas and the BPFNA~Bautistas Por La Paz. Jason grew up in Costa Rica and continues to be involved in special projects collaborating with communities of faith in Latin America, including Cuba, El Salvador, Mexico, and Panama.
Jason and his wife Myra live in Arkansas, where Myra is assistant professor of history at Ouachita Baptist University with an emphasis on contemporary southern African legal and constitutional history. They have three kids and share their home with three dogs and one cat. For fun, he loves watching Ted Lasso and Schitt’s Creek, rooting for the Little Rock Rangers Soccer Team, and pretending to be Elton John on the piano.
He believes the work of Sojourners is truly transformational, helping the world bend with the moral arc of the universe toward justice, and he is happy to speak with anyone interested in supporting Sojourners’ mission.
