The only thing that is relevant is the last line. We need availability of vocational training if they are not college bound. The rest makes no sense. i think they are in jail, because they are criminals and made that choice. Also, gulag prisoners were in prison not because they were criminals, but because the did not want their god-given liberties to be taken away. That is a very poor comparison.
Actually, only 3 of those 28 truly are requiring the church to cover contraception and at places like Catholic Charities and the like; you should fact check stuff instead of believing what DHHS says. Additionally, the Obama administration's requirements are much more stringent if you read the details. They are counting on people being stupid as usual. Also, you should realize that the Catholic Church has filed suit against those three states, New York, California, and Oregon indicating they were not Ok with the states mandates either.
You know, there is a simple answer to all of this. First, fix the actual problems with access to healthcare policies (there is not a problem with access to healthcare itself, everyone can access it...affordability is the issue), and then keep the government out of the way. Because they suck at managing things, they reaaalllyyy suck at it. Then let everyone choose their own custom plans based on their needs and what risks "they" are willing to take, and if they assume the risk, then they receive the consequences, not the taxpayer; however, a parent cannot choose to allow their child to die or remain ill, because that is a direct violation of the constitution in that they would be "wrongfully" denying that child's liberty. This is not hard, we just make it that way.
Wouldn't it be wonderful, then all of us evil men could stay out of the way and you could do whatever you want (except murder babies, I wouldn't be ok with that)
You are correct, everyone SHOULD make their own choices and pay for it themselves. Forcing a religous organization to pay for something against their belief system is not allowing the individual to make their own choice, because they are not paying for it. duh. The Catholics should not be forced to offer it, and that is just part of the individuals career choice; they can CHOOSE to work elsewhere if there values are not aligned or they can pay for it themselves. Also, why is birth control critical to women's health? Perhaps there are a few with critical conditions, but why for the rest?
How many abortions were performed, because people were irresponsible? If you are going to coppulate and don't want to bear a child, then buy your contraception. Otherwise support your decisions yourself without murdering innocent babies.
You just don't get it, no one is telling you what to do. You are more than welcome to go down to the drugstore and buy your pills. My wife does. Why can't you? why should the taxpayer pay for your pills? or condoms for that matter? Unless you have a validated medical condition it is not critical women's health care. Its like buying toothpaste, do you want your healthcare plan to pay for that also, because it is after all a preventative measure to brush your teeth. :-)
Your comparing apples and oranges. These employers happen to be a religious organization; it violates their core beliefs and their employees should be clear on what the beliefs of the organization are or they should get a job somewhere else. This is a constitutional issue, and only the beginning of their tyranny if we let this slide. All of us will be affected.
We have an all "volunteer" force so Draft would not be needed. The key word is "volunteer". the folks who sign up then claim "pacifists views" are just cowards. If they had this view, they should not have joined up...helloooo, its the military...fight and win America's wars and/or defend our sovereign borders. Its not a social program where you get a free ride and education dollars.
I support them not joining the military in the first place, sure. They do not get to join to take advantage of benefits and then run when they actually have to do what they signed up for.
here's a thought: if some of you are claiming that generous tips, without regard to performance, is Christlike, can I count it towards my 10% tithe? ;-)
I have two comment themes:
First, I agree with much of "relationship with God issue". I believe the true test of whether you taught/raised your children well is how they behave outside the home. Sometimes I think what the heck am I doing wrong here, but then hear from neighbors or others how well behaved, polite, compassionate, kind, helpful, etc. my kids were in their home or elsewhere. Then I know all is good. I believe how I behave outside His house really demonstrates my relationship with God. When I take loving care of my daughter or am there for my son when he is struggling, or when I help someone on the street financially (who actually needs help), etc, etc, etc...I am worshipping him...I am trying to live by the guidelines provided me in his words. A blueprint on how to strive to be a great human being; of course, we all have different ideas of what those guidelines actually say at times.
Second, tips. I tip very generously, and do not believe in "expected" tip amounts. You should not expect anything at all. It is your job to provide service to the customer, and hopefully, the person you serve well will be generous. If you are polite to me and pleasant, and attend to my needs as a patron, in other words your job performance is good. I will guage my tip based on your job performance. If you do your job well, you will get much more than 20% from me. If you suck, and its eveident you don't care you won't. Don't expect. Whatever you do, do it the best of your ability and you will be rewarded.
I have bled for your right to "protest", not the ridiculous display that is now happening. You are making your grievances irrelevant through your behavior.
Also, what is you want? Please describe how the system is unfair and countermeasures you would suggest within the framework of the U.S. Constitution. Adding an ammendment to remove personhood from corporations will not accomplish anything significant.
You do not represent the 99%. Perhaps 10% or less would be more accurate. How about we represent 100%. This is a system, so if you want systemic change you must involve 100% of it. I'm just sayin'.
First, help me understand how the Hoekstra add is racist, or how it gets worse on the website? I don't see it at all, and please don't give me a response that I am racist therefore don't see it, because I am not. I want you to specifically identify the racism. He is stating the truth that we are becoming dependent upon China and that is a very bad thing.
Second, I have been all over the world and had the opportunity to enjoy, learn, and respect various cultures in those countries. However, you speak of diversity and multiculturalism in one country as if its a good thing. Wrong. Very bad. Just look at Europe; it is tearing them apart. We need to have a common culture and goals. This is supposed to be a melting pot, in other words, one comes to America to be American and assimilate, not I want the benefits but also want you to accomodate me? No. I respect other cultures in their element, but believe those who come here need to blend to us, otherwise why did you come here? Also, keep in mind that "diversity" is what allowed slavery to continue in the U.S. for too long, different core values and goals.
Actually, our laws do not set birth as the standard..otherwise they would not outlaw late-term abortions. So, currently, it is ok to murder unborn children before their definition of late-term.
First, thank you for your correct interpretation of our commandment "Though shall not MURDER". It is NOT "Though shall not kill", as we have perpetuated. The actual translation is as you stated. So, what is the difference? Well, murder is when you take the life of an innocent. There is no self-defense involved or threat to your life, which would fall under the "kill" category. I wouldn't classify "inconvenience" as a threat or requiring self defense, so I would classify the taking of an innocent unborn as MURDER, and in direct violation of one of our sacred commandments. If you don't want to be inconvenienced, then keep the zippers in the up position.
Obviously, a miscarriage is not controlled by the woman, and it doesn't happen by "accident", it happens because something is wrong. If it was controlled by the woman, you cannot call it a miscarriage...we call that an "abortion", which is willful expulsion of the fetus, embryo, baby, etc. Most arguments against personhood are ridiculous at best.
Just to make sure I cover all bases...When we execute someone for commiting horrendous crimes such as "murdering" a whole family...we are "killing" them in a matter of societal self-defense to prevent them from doing it again (someone capable of that cannot be rehabilitated, thats nothing but garbage).
I am just asking here, please educate me. Why is an incarceration percentage directly correlated to racism? Please help me understand. I thought it was because they commited crimes.
Your claims below are completely and utterly false. Please do your research and back up your claims. You provide no references or statistics. Since you made these claims...ownus on you.
"7) When the Homestead Act of 1862 was passed how much free land did folks get from the government? And who got it?
What is 160 acres? And who are white folks?
(Uh-huh.)
8) Who benefited from the GI Bill?
Who is everyone?
(AAAARRRRNNNNKKK! Technically, yes, everyone should have benefited equally from the GI Bill. And by 1956, 7.8 million World War II veterans had received free college education or training and 2.4 million were carrying home loans backed by the Veterans' Administration. But the GI Bill was crafted it in such a way that it made it difficult for African-American GIs to take advantage of the benefits. So, the white middle class far out-paced the development of the African-American middle class.)
"
Are you kidding me? I really think we have not advanced, because some think if you disagree with a person of color you are a racist or prejudiced. Ridiculous. How about he is wrong...have you considered that? I want a leader, not an educated family man....you actually have to use the education or actually have experience in order to get results...talking doesn't cut it.
really?? can you provide evidence of this? I'll bet you can't...triple dare you to try. I can say that I personally won't apologize, since I did not do it. I will say it was horrible, and wrong, and I am glad that we have evolved and I can hang out freely with my "American" friends who happen to be a darker shade of brown than me. :-)
Official rhetoric has helped fuel an escalation of tension between the United States and Iran. Do recent negotiations mark a change in direction, or just a temporary detour from the highway to military attack?

We only pretend to listen...we just want to watch the football game :-) Just kidding

But you are okay with a non-white male telling you what to do? I am just asking, because I am wondering what you highlighted white male in your rant.

Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.
