Evidently you and I have much in common if you think big central government politicians granting favors to preferred businesses and special interest groups in return for campaign contributions or votes is killing our country. If you are in favor of breaking the cycle of cronyism and favoritism by politicians, we are on the same side. If people don't vote, they have no right to complain, or at least be listened to. So, I think we agree there, too. All of these things lead me to espouse small central government.
I love capitalism, too. I was once financially poor. I am no longer in that situation. And I thank God every night in my prayers for all He has given my family. My faith got me through the hard times. The more time I put in, the more opportunities arose for me to make money.
But make no mistake about it, the 99% vs. the 1% mentality is nearly identical to the attitudes in the great depression, especially in Germany. Many in the German church followed Hitler. The exceptions were people like Bonhoffer. I read the latest biography of him, along with In the Garden of Beasts and it opened my eyes to the similarities of today with back then.
Thank you for expressing your thoughts. If you love God, and love America as much as I do, we can work together to make it through this mess we find ourselves in.
To say government is the answer is to ignore history. It can help, but only in a limited way. Dictatorial forms of government have always tried, and many times succeeded, in convincing followers that they have the right to take from successful people to give to the less successful. Germany in the 1930's is a perfect example. Among the 1 percent then, the Jews. Have you noticed any anti-semitism increase. If you haven't, look for the new graffiti. Envy and covetousness is not the way to solve our problems. Honest politicians, adherence to our Constitution, and a return to the Christianity where the most important thing is to have a personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus, and being born again, is the way to go. But it won't be easy, of that I am certain.
Not all of them, versteckt, just the ones I read about, see videos of, and those I see on tv. Are you belittling me? I want change too. No more federal government over-reach into the pockets of the 90% employed, no more government paybacks to party supporters through preferential treatment (Solyndra), no more holding back our economy and jobs with excessive regulation and killing of job sources like in the energy industry. The fight should not be solely focused on a few overpaid executives on Wall Street. It should also be focused on Washington DC and a federal government run amok. They have to stop spending money they don't have. Just like any sane family.
Absolutely not. I don't dismiss the suffering of anyone. Much of it is senseless, and much is caused as socialist/marxist leaders deprive people of the fruits of their labors, pretending to redisrtibute to those in need.
There is no unjust economy, just unjust people expecting something for nothing. If there are any unjust 1 percenters, it's the professional athletes, especially in the NBA and NFL. Unbelievable pay for playing games of entertainment. They do not deserve their pay. Or the Hollywood elite like Michael Moore who are paid outrageous sums for making films. Talk about worshiping false idols. The market is made up of companies, made up of ordinary people working for a living, paying their bills, providing jobs for others, and taxes so the poor can have money they haven't earned. These OWS bums are freeloaders, or they couldn't spend so much time playing martyr in the park. We should pray for their repentance, along with others who spark violence, unfettered sex and drugs, and covetousness.
You are much more in line with what I think Jesus would recommend than what Jim Wallis is trying to lead his followers into doing. I think social mercy might be more appropriate than social justice.
Official rhetoric has helped fuel an escalation of tension between the United States and Iran. Do recent negotiations mark a change in direction, or just a temporary detour from the highway to military attack?

10-4. Let's get our country back to it's original design. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Government is not the answer.
Only if the man wants to learn, and makes the effort to fish, and doesn't expect the fish to just jump into his boat.

You are correct. These are misguided souls. Violence, open sex, drugs and lawlessness is nothing to honor.
