Ok, all of you. Be civil, or take it somewhere else.

I mean it.

Cut the snark. And the sarcasm. And the general nastiness.

Now.

Brilliant analogy, Adam!

"Being a married pastor doesn't make you a marriage expert any more than being a nineteen year old basketball star makes you a hall of fame coach."

The spam you're seeing that is slipping through our current spam filter in the new Drupal platform is being sent by individual, real-live people who are payed to spam. They are harder to catch in the filter, but we are working on installing new filters to do so. Thank you for your patience.

scat - please strive to be civil here. that is the guiding principle, whether you feel the person you are responding to has been civil or not.

12/06/2011 - 12:21am a couple of things: bono made that statement in december 2002. nine years ago. i know this cuz he said it to me then. and he was prognosticating in what i believe was a prophetic way. the church - and he'd be the first one to tell you this - DID respond. in a big way. thanks be to God. secondly, bono is not roman catholic. his father, bob, was catholic and his mother, iris, who died when he was 14, was protestant. he and his elder brother, norman, were raised in the church of ireland. and insofar as he's ever been a "member" of a local church as an adult it's been an evangelical protestant one. he meant us. i.e., evangelicals. he was speaking specifically in 2002 to the u.s. evangelical church writ large. we listened and, thanks be to God again, responded. and made a massive, life-saving, game-changing impact on the aids pandemic in sub-saharan africa and elsewhere.
