Here's my problem with it. Whether it was a true Jewish ceremony (which I doubt) or not, it was all about Eddie Long, not Jesus. I find far too many pastors of mega-churches making the service about them. While he apologized for offending Jewish people, I haven't yet found an apology about being part of a ceremony that caused his congregation to focus solely on him and not on God.

I need to put that quote up by my mirror. I teach elementary school, and there are days when I wonder if it's worth it. This was a good reminder that what I'm doing will outlast me. Thanks for the pick me up!
Correlation does not equal causation. I doubt that if we reduce food benefits, suddenly childhood obesity will vanish. There are lots of reasons why children in poverty suffer from obesity.
This is not about a retail employee not wanting to work the day after Thanksgiving. This is about employees not wanting to work the day OF Thanksgiving. Have we become so commercial that stores can't take Thanksgiving off? All of the stuff will still be there on Friday (and so will the bargain hunters). What's next? After Christmas sales starting Christmas night?
