THANKS TO Bert Golding, David Pultz, and Joel Swadesh for writing to protest your harsh criticism of President Clinton's veto of (legislation restricting) third-trimester abortion. I respect Sojourners' principled pro-life stand because it is morally consistent with its seamless web-of-life beliefs and it does not demonize persons like me who support the availability of legal abortion. However Julie Polter's commentary ("Outrage Over the Abortion Veto," July-August 1996) came close to doing just that.
